Black Eyed Peas Trivia!
If I use 2.5 cups of water for the rice do I need to add more when cooking it in the same pot as black eyed peas? Can this be done?
Thanks for the answers, these are frozen black peas so do not need soaking overnight,,
So the same amount of water? Maybe a little more? I only really have one pan that’s why i’m kind of hoping I can do the two together.. thanks again

I wouldn’t do the two together because it takes much longer to cook dry black-eyed peas from scratch. If the peas are canned, no problem.

If you cook your raw rice for the same amount of time as it takes to cook raw dry black-eyed peas, then the rice will fall apart.

In seeing your second comment, since the time is the same on both – go for it!! But you do realize the peas will flavor the rice. If you don’t mind that, then go ahead. I wouldn’t increase the water by very much because there will be some liquid around the peas. And if it looks a little dry on the rice, just add more water.
