Dinesen House historic log cabin
Historic Dinesen House log cabin located on the Sokaogon Chippewa (Mole Lake Band) Indian Reservation at Mole Lake, Wisconsin.
Danish adventurer and expatriate Wilhelm Dinesen acquired the cabin in 1873. He named the cabin "Freydenlund" (Grove of Joy) and stayed there for more than a year with an Ojibwa (Chippewa) housekeeper named Catherine.
Wilhelm returned to his homeland in Denmark in 1874, married in 1885, and fathered a daughter (Karen Blixen) who hence became a writer. Under the pen name Isak Dinesen she wrote the book "Out of Africa" in the 1930′s which ultimately became a major motion picture starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford.
In 2003, the Wisconsin Trust for Historic Preservation recognized the Dinesen House as being one of the Ten Most Endangered Historic Properties in the state.
Among some, the long range goals for the historic structure is getting it on the National Register of Historic Places and possibly acquiring a US Postage Stamp in honor of its relationship with its US postal history.

Meryl Streep Trivia!
Obviously Meryl Streep’s part as Julia Child was historically great and
Sandra Bullock wasn’t even close. So what WTF?
Answer by nowaynohow
Yeah, but Meryl will be getting the Lifetime Achievement Oscar one of these days, so don’t weep too much.
