I think it would be a great idea. Have a few teams drive the price up on Derek Jeter and give the Yankees a taste of their own medicine. They’ll have to sign him regardless.

My thoughts exactly. If they give Jeter and Lee loaded deals, then they wont have much let to sign others, ultimately leading to their eventual demise.
