Derek Jeter is the most important Yankee of all time yet the Yankees are not treating him that way. Won’t it be a slap in the face if he doesn’t get a contract at least equal to AJ Burnett’s? No. Jeter’s previous contract has been fulfilled. It’s time for a new contract, and should be based on current conditions. Jeter should just accept the new contract and thank the Yankees, no one else will pay him what they are willing to pay him. He is not that important anymore, there are younger and better players than him.
