Kim Clijsters wins WTA player of the year award
U.S. Open champion Kim Clijsters is the WTA’s player of the year. Clijsters won five tournaments, including the season-ending WTA Championships and her second consecutive title at Flushing Meadows. She was player of the year in 2005. She has won 15 titles and of those, 2 of them are grand slams. Wimbledon 2004 where she defeated Serena in the final and US Open 2006 where she defeated Henin in the final.
