I’m curious as to why the Rangers traded Alex Rodriguez.

Did A-rod say he wanted out? Could the Rangers simply not afford to pay any of his $ 252 Million Dollar contract anymore? What was the reason, or at least “speculated” reason for Alex Rodriguez getting traded?
