Coldplay Trivia!
I have to select a song for an essay that has an extended metaphor and other figurative language. I know that “Long Division” by DCFC has an extended metaphor, but does it have any other figurative language? I narrowed it down to two bands that I want to choose a song from and those are Death Cab For Cutie or Coldplay.

Personally I think “I will follow you into the dark” by DCFC would be a good song choice. The title becomes an extended metaphor for dying, and Catholic school is compared to Roman rule, there’s a hotel metaphor, plenty of imagery, etc. Good luck with your essay!
