What is meant by the word setup?

Michael Bay for example does 50 – 60 setups a day where most other directors do around 19 at max.

Is a setup = scene? So he shoots 50 scenes a day? Or is it equal to the number of camera angels? or takes?

This is what you do to give you strong stomach muscles. 50-60 isn’t that impressive. I don’t even know why other directors bother with only 19.
