Velcro superhero

At Waveboy’s birthday party last summer, he was selected to participate in a "superhero science" show–his superpower was the ability to stick to walls.
He was a good sport about the whole thing–even willing to be stuck to the wall a second time for a better photo opportunity. [During the show, they suck him on face in.]
I was quite jealous–I remembered the "suit of Velcro" stunt from the old David Letterman show, and I had always wanted to try it. Alas, this suit of vecro was a bit small.

Every night, when David Letterman comes out, he stops and looks off stage like he’s checking the time on his watch or something. What is that all about?

This is a mannerism. It doesn’t mean anything in particular. He is mostly waiting for people to stop clapping or laughing. A lot of things are happening behind the camera as well. He also sends signals to the Paul Schaffer band.
