The El Royale Motel in Studio City was the location used as the Sunny Vista Motel in the movie Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler. Because of the close proximity to the Hollywood studios this motel has shown up in many other projects including Boogie Nights, The OC, and CSI.

Adam Sandler Trivia!
I know the theme song is the cover of The Who’s “Love, Reign O’er Me” and that the original Who song comes up in the film, but I want a list of all the songs Adam Sandler listens to throughout. There’s some Bruce, some Billy Joel I think, Some Seeger—pretty much all the stuff that he references throughout the movie. Any help would be appreciated!

When Charlie feels threatened or must keep his mind from wandering to uncomfortable thoughts, he retreats into loud classic rock played over his headphones.

One of those songs—played prominently several times in the film and to which he was listening to in his ipod —is The Who’s “Love, Reign O’er Me” (redone for the film’s soundtrack by Pearl Jam). It’s obvious that it’s not just a random song placement. In fact, the song’s title fills in the word missing from the film’s name.

At the beginning of Chapter 20, just after Adam Sandler says “You’re too young, you’re too young, I can’t do this. I’ve got to put these back on”, his iPod shows “Birds of St. Marks” by Jackson Browne, Solo Acoustic, Vol. 1.

Other songs that he might be listening to in his Ipod are the following:

A Simple Man – Graham Nash
All These Things That I’ve Done – The Killers
Ashes – Embrace
Burt in Shower
Drive All Night by Bruce Springsteen
Flesh Eater – Diminished
How To Save a Life – The Fray
Hoop-Dee-Doo
I Ain’t Got Nobody
I’m Old Fashioned
In This Life – Chantal Kreviazuk
Lean On Me – Bill Withers
No Trouble – Shawn Barry
One Big Holiday – by My Morning Jacket
Out In The Street by Bruce Springsteen
Payback – Lucy Klein
So Broken – Rolfe Kent
Stop Your Sobbin’ – The Pretenders
The Birds of St. Marks – Jackson Browne
You’re a Shadow – Marc Cohn

I don’t think he’s listening to any Bob Seger songs though. In the scene where Charlie tells the therapist in the diner that if he went to one of Bob Seger’s concerts he would get his butt kicked because he thinks the guy is a dork.
