Dane Cook: Beating Cancer to Become Funny Again

Dane Cook: Beating Cancer to Become Funny Again
Dane Cook got a little dark on last year’s Global Thermo tour, and that experience has left the 38-year-old comedian promising a more upbeat tone on his current “Dane Cook Live!” tour. Dane Cook is taking that tour to New Mexico State University this weekend – a place where Cook enjoys a strong and healthy fan base. Cook had some heavy stuff to deal with on that last tour,

Day 77 of 365 (Year Two)

I was going to do this shot yesterday after we saw the movie, but then I got involved with the slices assignment for Take A Class With Dave and Dave and never got around to shooting it. The idea was still there and all in all I’m happy with how it turned out.

I can tell you that finding a decent image of the pink cover from the movie was a pain in the rear! And don’t get me started on the damn speck!

Regardless of how hard it was to find the image, I must say that the movie was fantastic. It looked good in the previews, but with Hollywood’s track record on Dr. Suess big screen attempts, I wasn’t 100% convinced. Horton Hear A Who is one of my favorites and I was nervous that Hollywood was going to do another Grinch or Cat In The Hat. I’m happy to say it was nothing like those!

The style and feel of the movie matched perfectly to Dr. Suess’ style. Jim Carey voiced it perfectly as did Steve Carell, Carol Burnett and all the others. There were certain changes that they made to the story, but for once, unlike the Golden Compass or a hundred other flicks, they did it in a way that didn’t hurt the story or the concept.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the drawn parts of the movie. Apparently when Horton dreams, he dreams in cartoon. The anime sequence was hysterical and really well done!

It may be being billed as a kids movie, but even at my advanced age, I loved it – two thumbs and a trunk up!

Steve Carell Trivia!
I saw a season 1 episode of the Office the other day and Steve Carell looked so much different then he did on Season 2+. What did he change about himself?
