Manny Pacquiao Trivia!
I have seen the early fights of Manny and he was usually introduced as plain “Manny Pacquiao”. Was the monicker “Pacman” chosen by him or it was given to him by? If not by himself, who called him first “Pacman”?
Answer by Jack G
It was first coined by American sports commentators who have difficulties pronouncing his last name at first (paaa-keeey-yaoooo instead of pak-yaw) so because of Manny’s way of “gobbling-up” opponents in such a quick manner and first syllable of his last name rhymes with the game so they start to call him “Pacman”.
