it’s called a split screen, it’s been around since probably the 60′s. The Parent Trap starring Hailey Mills and Hailey Mills had Hailey Mills play two twins at the same time. That film was made in the 60′s. Eddie Murphy is notorius for playing more than one character at the same time. In Norbit he played both Norbit and his wife.
